At an over-an-hour-long speech to the Communist Party of China (CPC) centennial celebrations in Tiananmen Square, Xi also emphasised that integrating Taiwan with the Chinese mainland is a historic task of the ruling party.

China, according to Xi, does not oppress other nations and would not allow others to “bully us.”
Xi stated, “We have never bullied, persecuted, or subjugated the people of any other country, and we will never do so.”
“No foreign power will ever be able to intimidate, oppress, or subjugate the Chinese people,” he added.
“Anyone who tries to do so would find themselves colliding with a tremendous wall of steel built by over 1.4 billion Chinese people,” he threatened.
He believes that resolving the Taiwan issue and achieving China’s total reunification is a historic duty and a firm commitment of the CPC.
