With Help From Popular Streetwear Label PALACE, McDonald’s is Releasing a New Movie-themed Lunch Deal

McDonald’s is venturing into the streetwear realm once again by collaborating with British skate brand PALACE for a limited edition branded clothing line. This partnership is part of McDonald’s new “As Featured In” meal, a promotion tied to the Disney+ show “Loki.” The meal, available from August 14, offers options like a 10-piece McNuggets, Big Mac, or Quarter Pounder with Cheese, alongside medium fries and a drink. The packaging will include a code that customers can scan to access the PALACE website and purchase the exclusive McDonald’s merchandise.

The collaboration extends to a pop-up sale hosted by PALACE at the oldest surviving McDonald’s location in Dover, Calif., on August 18. This event will allow customers to purchase the branded merchandise in person. This isn’t the first time McDonald’s has ventured into limited edition merch. In 2020, the company partnered with Cactus Plant Flea Market for an adult-oriented Happy Meal that featured collectible toys, some of which fetched high prices on eBay.

McDonald’s has previously explored themed meals as well. Their 2020 collaboration with rapper Travis Scott, for instance, was so popular that certain restaurants faced Quarter Pounder burger shortages due to high demand. The fast food giant’s foray into the streetwear space showcases its efforts to connect with contemporary culture and tap into the enthusiasm of its customers for exclusive, themed experiences.
