Will accept bitcoin again when greener: Tesla

Elon Musk, CEO of electric vehicle giant, Tesla recently stated that the company will accept bitcoin payment again when the currency gets greener. The American manufacturer had announced in February that customers could make the payments via cryptocurrency. This had caused much sensation as the option became possible at the end of March.

However, eventually, with the objective of protecting the environment, Musk changed his mind and indicated that bitcoin were no longer accepted as payments. The billionaire stated that Tesla will resume allowing bitcoin transactions when the company will receive a confirmation regarding reasonable clean energy usage by miners with positive future trend.

Powerful computers produce bitcoin, which consume huge amounts of electricity to solve equations. Musk recently reacted to an article which states that with his Tweets, he is manipulating the bitcoin market prices for the benefit of his business.

He said that this information is inaccurate while further adding that Tesla only sold approximately 10% of holdings to make sure that BTC could be liquidated with ease without moving market.

The US auto making company had recently announced that recently it had invested $1.5 billion of its ample cash in bitcoin and has also sold part of it since then.
