Seat alongside Jeff Bezos for space trip sells for $28 million

At an auction recently, a mystery bidder paid $28 million to secure a seat alongside Jeff Bezos on board the first crewed spaceflight of Bezos’ company Blue Origin next month. It was revealed recently that the Amazon founder and his brother Mark would be on board during the launch of the company’s space flight, New Shepard. The flight will be launched on July 20 and it will fly to the edge of space and back.

The winner of recently held charity auction will join the Bezos brothers on this trip. The identity of the winner has not been disclosed yet. Another unnamed space tourist will also join the crew on this trip.

It was informed by Blue Origin that the company will release the name of the auction’s winner in the weeks following the auction’s conclusion.

Bezos stated that the human space flight has already undergone 15 test flights, none of which had passengers aboard. Bezos, 57, called this trip as the gretaes adventure with his best friend. He added that he has been dreaming of travelling to space ever since he was 5 years old.

The crew will arrive in West texas four days before their flight so that they can receive their training. The capsule carrying the passengers will separate from its booster at about 2, 50,000 feet.
