Microsoft corp CEO, Satya Nadella has been recently named as the chairman of the company. His position in the company elevated because of his dedication towards dramatically transforming the world’s largest software maker as its CEO during the last seven years. He will also hold on to the position of CEO.

This is the second time that the same person is holding the positions of both the CEO and the chairman; the first being co-founder Bill gates. This gives a clear idea that the tech giant is confident about Nadella’s ability to take it into the future.

Nadella was appointed as the CEO of Microsoft when the company’s flagship Windows business was in troubled waters and the company was having a tough time in the mobile phone and internet search markets. Nadella, who grew up in Hyderabad, joined Microsft in 1992 and led the company in achieving success in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and a greater sense of ownership among employees.

Microsoft stated that as chairman, Nadella will lead the work to set the agenda for the board while bring his deep understanding of the business into play. This will help in elevating the right strategic opportunities and identifying the major risks and also introducing the appropriate mitigation measures.
