On Tuesday, 6th July 2021 Pentagon, a US company cancels the Cloud Computing Contract with Microsoft. The contract would have been worth $10 billion. The company has decided to sign a contract with Amazon, Microsoft, and other cloud service-providing companies.
In a statement, Pentagon said that the JEDI (Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure) cloud contract does not meet the DoD’s (US Department of Defense’s) potential gaps.
The JEDI contract faced many challenges when it signed a contract with Microsoft. Amazon Web Services went to court with a complaint against the contract stating, Pentagon followed an unfair process. It also stated that Pentagon was influenced by politics.
