Meta Announces Price Increase for Quest 2 VR System

Meta Quest 2 Virtual Reality system also known as Oculus Quest2 will receive a change in its pricing, jumping from $299 to $399, nearly $100 from August 1st. The reason for this shift could not be clarified however, rising inflation and product cost stands as one of the major reasons.

Meta has tried to balance the price hike with offers including the free VR rhythm game Beat Saber while purchasing the new headset. The users buying Meta Quest 2 between August 1st and December 31st and activating it before January 31st would be able to download Beat Saber for free in case it’s not enabled up to the following 14 days.

The company has a hardware roadmap ahead, the rumoring launch of Quest Pro later in 2022. The Quest Pro is supposed to have a more realistic pass-through capacity, full color, and depth sensors making it a sophisticated AR experience.
