Mercedes to Recall About a Million Cars Globally

Mercedes-Benz Group AG will be recalling about a million cars globally due to a potential issue related to a braking system, according to the Agence France-Presse report.

As per the statement by a regulator known as KBA to AFP, the cars with the issue were built between 2004 and 2015. These models belong to the ML and GL sports vehicle series, as well as the R-Class luxury minivan.

The Mercedes-Benz group also confirmed the recall in a statement to AFP, stating “a particularly strong or hard braking maneuver could cause mechanical damage to the vehicles’ brake booster in rare cases of very severe corrosion.”

The AFP report further states that more than 993,000 cars are being recalled, of which 70,000 are from Germany.
