Intel Corporation announced on Monday that its factories will start building Qualcomm Inc chips. The company also laid out a roadmap to develop its new foundry business to catch rivals like Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company and Samsung Electronics Company Limited by 2025.

Intel’s major clients will be Qualcomm and Amazon. Qualcomm, which dominates the chips for mobile phones, will utilize the chipmaking handle. It will use new transistor technology to reduce the power consumption by the chip. Intel also revealed that it will change its naming scheme for chipmaking technology.
