IKEA plans to Open Plan and Order Point in Sligo

IKEA is expanding into the northwest, establishing a new Plan and Order Point in Sligo next month.

This will be the retailer’s sixth Plan and Order Point in Ireland, with three more scheduled to launch within the next year. The new store will open in Sligo on Friday, April 19, at The Canopy, previously Johnston Court Shopping Centre, which received a €1 million rebranding and refurbishment last year. Plan and Order Points are specialty businesses that offer consumers kitchen and wardrobe planning services, as well as in-depth home furnishing guidance and experience.

The Swedish furniture business announced that the Sligo store will have six distinct kitchens, two PAX wardrobe options, a home furnishings design space, and an appliance studio.
Customers will be able to start their design with one of the four specialists working in the store, either by dropping in or making an appointment.

Products from the entire IKEA range can then be ordered and delivered directly to the customer’s house or a preferred location. In 2021, IKEA established its first Plan and Order store in Naas, followed by locations in Cork, Drogheda, Carlow, and Dublin’s St Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre. Martyn Allan, Market Manager, IKEA Ireland said, “Beyond kitchen planning, these locations serve as an ideal hub for assisting individuals who live a distance from our Ballymun store, whether they’re looking to order a new sofa, wardrobe, or any other IKEA product.”
