Bernard Arnault, the CEO and majority owner of the French luxury group, LVMH has become the richest person in the world by briefly surpassing Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos.

Forbes stated that Arnault became the richest person in the world with a net worth of $186.4 billion by exceeding Bezos, who stands at a net worth of $186 billion. The French fashion tycoon has added over $47 billion to his net worth so far in 2021.

Major fashion brands such Fendi, Christian Dior, and Givenchy come under LVMH. Arnault looks after 70 brands including Louis Vuitton and Sephora. He also completed a deal with American jewellery brand Tiffany & Co. earlier this year. The deal was finalized at $15.8 billion and is believed to be the biggest luxury brand acquisition ever.
