Apple is expected to introduce all four variants of its forthcoming iPhone 13 range in September, complete with bigger batteries, an upgraded processor, and enhanced mmWave 5G compatibility.

And now, avid leaker Jon Prosser claims that the Cupertino-based tech behemoth is testing new Face ID technology that will allow customers to unlock their iPhone while wearing a mask or foggy glasses.

Apple is developing more sophisticated Face ID hardware with a cover that fits tightly around an iPhone 12, according to Prosser. According to MacRumors, the cover allows the iPhone to skip its built-in Face ID system in favour of the case.

On a large scale, testing with and without masks or glasses are being done for future hardware.
