After announcing the release of 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, Apple is said to be planning the updates for the devices and is working on M2 versions already. The design and features of both the computers are likely to be the same while the change would be addition of M2 versions.

The update that is expected to happen in the fall could create a risk of making M1 Pro and M1 Max based models out of date earlier. Usually, the update cycle of Apple is around 1.5 or two year which would change as the update would be coming in an year.
